When I decided to take the homeschooling journey for Agui way back in 2017, I faced multiple stigmas and challenges. Back then it was viewed as odd - almost taboo - especially for my semi-conservative family who are mostly “blue” blooded (if you know what i mean).
Facing so much fears and doubts, not to mention personal and professional worries pouring on at the same time, I sought multiple consultations with OTs, Dev Peds and several of Agui's teachers including CORE’s very own Teacher Ana. From the very start I knew the best place for Agui is an environment focused on intentional learning and would allow and help Agui grow at his own pace and in a space where he would be truly seen, known, and supported.

That’s when I found CORE Homeschoolers Hub.

CORE wasn’t just a homeschool program. It became our home. Our family. It was a place that helped us understand and accept our circumstance and embraced us—me as a single-parent trying to figure things out, and Agui as a child with so much potential waiting to unfold.

What made me stay all these years? The faith, in both Agui and myself, their support in everything acads and everything else, the heart of each and everyone in CORE, the community they built. I wasn’t just given a curriculum—I was empowered, equipped, and encouraged every step of the way.

Now, eight years later, I look at where we are and I can only thank God for leading us here. Homeschooling wasn’t the easy choice, but with CORE, it was the right one for us.

To any parent who feels uncertain, I get you. I was you. But maybe, just maybe—this could be the beginning of something beautiful for your child and you.
